We've been hearing enthusiastically from our guests, so without further ado . . .

This was our second time staying at Little Bay House and it already feels like our second home. We (3 couples, 3 kids) had plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy all of the well-appointed spaces. The kitchen saw many meals using the bountiful produce from Dug In Farms and the incredibly fresh seafood from Miss Mary's (and of course River Market's fish dip!). The deck and back porch housed us from sunrise to sunset,  where we spent our days bird watching (eagles!), napping, coloring, and everything in between. The ample outdoor gear provided us hours of fun in the Bay; our kids LOVED the SUPs! At night, once the kids were in bed after s'mores by the fire pit, we played many rounds of games at the large dining table. We love Little Bay House and are already planning our next trip back.

This is our second summer at Little Bay House and we hope to return in future years. Meg is easy to get in touch with and communicates clearly. The house is clean and comfortable with everything you need for a perfect vacation including good wifi. The garage is fully stocked for entertainment and includes a crab pot, fishing poles, floaties, kayaks, SUPs, life vests and yard games. There's a bocce ball set that we use nearly every day and the huge yard provides a perfect field for matches. There's a Weber grill for outdoor cooking and a really nice firepit for cooler evenings. The water is shallow and usually very calm so perfect (and safe) for the kids. We see pods of dolphins swimming right in front of the house just offshore almost every morning. We love the house and the area and highly recommend Little Bay House.

We had a wonderful three-night, early June stay at the Little Bay House with our family of four. We will remember the views and sunsets forever! The house is very comfortable, spacious, well-supplied and in good condition. The kayaks made for a great time on the calm water. We used the fire pit and made s'mores. We used the picnic table on the deck for an excellent crab feast – with crabs from Miss Mary Seafood. We enjoyed waterside oysters at Merroir, just across the Rappahannock bridge, and had a great meal at The 606 in White Stone.

The property feels quite secluded and is so tranquil. Everything you need is right there or within easy reach in White Stone and Kilmarnock. Meg is a terrific host and provides all necessary information, making booking and preparation a breeze. Little Bay House was just the getaway we were looking for.

Meg, I'm finally back home and resurfacing from a boatload of work emails and just wanted to thank you for such a lovely stay! Your home is so beautiful, and, as my three-year old commented when we walked in: "they did a great job with this house, mama!" I couldn't agree more!

The property was exactly as described, actually even better! It was so convenient that everything was already available (e.g. linens, toilet paper, etc). The house was clean, the beds were super comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked, and of course the views were lovely. We had so much fun, even though it rained for 1/2 of the time we were there!

The home is even cuter in person! The property is wonderful with lovely hammock spots and plenty of toys. We had a wonderful time with the kayaks and Sups. Communication with Meg was responsive and easy. We will certainly be back!

This property made for a great place to have a safe break during COVID. We were a group of three families with three children (ages 3, 4, and 5) who have "bubbled up" in our hometown. The property is right on the bay with sand beaches to play on and plenty of privacy. The property had everything we needed to have fun in the bay during our stay: crab pot, kayaks, SUP's, life jackets, and fishing rods. There were ample Adirondack and folding chairs. Our only excursions away from the house were to get oysters from Merroir and fresh fish from Miss Mary's.

The inside accommodations were exactly what we were expecting based on the pictures. Everything was very clean, nice, and worked as intended. There are ample living areas and we never felt crowded. There is a kids' bedroom with six bunk beds with curtains on them to give each child a sense of privacy. Our kids loved it. The house has high speed internet which didn't have any issues handling zooms call when they had to be made. We had a great time and would highly recommend the property. Meg was very responsive and a great host.

When my friend called to see if we might be interested in staying with them for a long weekend at a VRBO rental in White Stone, VA we were all in.  But when I read more about the Little Bay House and saw the home’s interior described as “Scandinavian minimalism” I started packing my bags. I knew I was going to love this place. The 2.5 hour drive from Alexandria was beautiful. The house is located on 5 acres directly of Little Bay, just off Fleets Bay on Virginia's Chesapeake Bay. You drive down a long gravel driveway to the charming all-white house and immediately have views of the bay. Enter long lost feelings of relaxation.

This home's location and 5-acres of land made it feel COVID-friendly but not remote. We were able to see boats and other people out enjoying the water throughout our stay. The bay is actually quite shallow which allowed all the parents to relax (a little) as children ages 1-9 all enjoyed the water (supervised of course). We enjoyed paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, exploring the nearby island, playing in the sand on the beach, reading books in the hammocks - we were never without something to do and it was easy to keep the children entertained without the hassle of needing to load them all into the car.

The huge deck was great for morning coffee, enjoying sunrises and sunsets, grilling and enjoying fun dinners as a group.

The interior of the home was perfect and no detail was overlooked. As parents we appreciated the clean towels, extra toiletries, sheets were already on the beds!!, and things like extra bandaids and other little things that are easy to forget when traveling. The Scandinavian minimalist decor is incredible and the entire home is beautiful with a kitschy vibe.   We enjoyed playing games in the game room and having a space for the children to keep their toys. The kitchen was spacious enough for everyone to use at the same time and open to the dining room so we could keep an eye on young children eating breakfast.

We LOVED relaxing in the evenings with a movie or good book on the comfy sectional in the living room. Having 3 bedrooms on one side of the house and then the "bunk room" on the other side was also great. The kids loved the bunk beds and were far enough down the hall that we could chat and watch TV without waking them up.  We were also able to separate the youngest babies who needed naps etc. during the day. Oh - and there are hooks everywhere which is genius and necessary when on a beach/bay house vacation!

We were easily able to drive into town to pick up dinner or a few groceries. We had such a magical time at the Little Bay House and can't wait for our next visit. Thank you so much for having us!

We had a wonderful and relaxing week at this property. It was the perfect place to just be. The view is wonderful, the water calm and refreshing just steps away. (Great for kids!) As promised the garage was full of floats and boats and even a crab trap for our amusement. Aside from the occasional trip into town for some supplies all 12 of us spent the week just enjoying the house and all it offered. We didn’t want to leave. Meg was a great host and quick to respond to any questions. We will come back!

We couldn’t have been more pleased with our time at the Little Bay House. It was a perfect location for us to quickly get out of town (Richmond), and the house has been beautifully updated. I don’t think anything could have improved our stay. Meg made everything so simple as well.

Our vacation at Little Bay Cottage couldn’t have been more perfect. The house, the setting and the location all exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The house was thoughtfully and comfortably appointed and included everything that you might need in a vacation house. The expansive yard with its combination of shady oak trees, a sandy beach, calming water views and cool breezes provide something for everyone of all ages. The location of the house is an easy drive from Richmond and is nestled in a charming town with unique restaurants and shops. In fact, Little Bay Cottage was so perfect that my husband and I decided that our future river house should be just like this one.

Thank you, Meg and Read, for sharing your beautiful home with us. We will come back for many more visits . . . at least until we find our own perfect little cottage!

I consider staying at The Little Bay House the absolute highlight of our summer of 2020. The house is the perfect amount of space for one family to really spread out or 3 families to enjoy one another together. The living room (smart TV,  game room, and porch allow for 3 separate areas for everyone to do their own relaxing after watching a gorgeous sunset in a kayak (provided) on the Little Bay. We spent most of our time in the water on the kayaks and SUP's. Meg has thought of everything from snacks in the vintage vending machine to noise-canceling machines in the bedrooms which made our stay "turnkey" from the time we walked in the door, we jumped right in and started our fun and relaxing time together. We are absolutely planning to visit, again.

The “Little Bay House” is a magical spot for a getaway. The house is on a lovely piece of land right on the Chesapeake Bay, with its own sandy beach and nearby creeks and waterways to explore with the many kayaks and stand up paddle boards provided. There is plenty of room for one family or more in the house. Everything is well organized and clean throughout the house. The owners have thought of any possible need you might have from kitchen utensils to a wonderful selection of games and toys. There are plenty of outdoor chairs and hammocks you relax on as you watch the sun set and a fantastic swing! The surrounding area of the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula offer plenty of fun restaurants and shopping. Our kids did not want our vacation to end. We will definitely be back.

We give the Little Bay house an enthusiastic 5 star review. It was the perfect “home away from home” for our family and a much needed change of scenery after weeks of social distancing in Richmond. The “Little Bay House” is beautifully appointed, clean and clearly a lot of time and attention has been taken to maximize the comfort of guests and the gorgeous views of the water. There are lots of sitting areas to gather as a family for a meal, games, reading or just easy down time. Our favorite was the porch overlooking the river where we usually started our mornings and ended our evenings. My daughter’s enjoyed the bunk bed room and after a busy day outside, we all slept great in the comfortable beds.

Speaking of busy, the pace at the bay house was as active or as relaxed as each family member desired. It’s stocked with kayaks, a stand up paddle board, and floats for those who wanted to spend time on the water. There were also chairs for relaxing shore side, three hammocks and a s’mores pit for a delicious treat at the end of the day.

Per the recommendations found on the house’s website, we traveled into town for food and some sight seeing. We bought delicious seafood at Miss Mary’s, ate ice cream at the Country Cottage, picked up lunch to go from River Market and even chartered a sunset cruise. We appreciated the slow and easy pace afforded us by your cozy home and look forward to returning some day. Thank you!
